# Save configurations

```lua
SaveManager:SetLibrary(Fluent)
SaveManager:SetFolder("MyScript/Configs")
SaveManager:IgnoreThemeSettings()
local SettingsTab = Window:AddTab({ Title = "Settings", Icon = "settings" })
SaveManager:BuildConfigSection(SettingsTab)
SaveManager:LoadAutoloadConfig()
```

`SaveManager` writes JSON files to `<Folder>/settings/<name>.json`.

It persists Toggle, Slider, Dropdown, Colorpicker, Keybind, Input, connected button inputs, and identified sections.

Use `SaveManager:Save("profile1")` and `SaveManager:Load("profile1")` to manage configurations directly.

### Persist section state

Only sections with an explicit `Idx` retain their collapsed state.

```lua
local Combat = MainTab:AddSection("Combat", "sword", false, "CombatSection")
```

The saved state overrides `DefaultCollapsed` during loading. Restoration skips the collapse animation.

### Configure autosave

`BuildConfigSection` adds an **Auto Save** toggle. It defaults to enabled.

Autosave runs every `SaveManager.AutoSaveDelay` seconds. The default delay is `1`. It writes only when the serialized state changes.

The active target is the autoload configuration first. Otherwise, it uses `SaveManager.AutoSaveConfigName`, which defaults to `"autosave"`.

### Exclude values

Exclude values that should never enter a configuration file.

```lua
SaveManager:SetIgnoreIndexes({ "SessionToken", "TemporaryTarget" })
SaveManager:IgnoreThemeSettings()
```

`IgnoreThemeSettings` excludes interface settings. Use `InterfaceManager` to persist those preferences separately.

Continue with [interface customization](/configure-and-customize/customize-the-interface.md).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://fluentv2.hungquan99.site/configure-and-customize/save-configurations.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
